Report from the FIRE workshop

Today a workshop on FIRE (Federation of Internet Resources for Education) was held in Stockholm. The workshop was lead by David Massart from the European School-net (EUN).
The target group for the workshop was developers and it was carried out on a detailed level, covering everything from the use of SQI in FIRE, via Application Profiling for European schools to detailed FIRE API-specific- and implementation issues.
The next step will now be to test the FIRE system for a couple of Swedish Learning Object repositories to evaluate FIRE as a model for a brokerage service for our national digital learning resources as well as for connection with European learning resources. Hopefully, we will be able to make it a lot easier for schools to find and use digital learning resources in the end…
